The project was created with the goal of making a trail without altering the woods. Trails like this are not unusual overseas, but this is one of only three in Japan: Naeba, Iwate, and Hokuriku. The Naeba trail is the longest in the country at nearly 2km, and the view is known for its beauty. “Naeba Tourist Association Chairman Hideo Umezawa This is the Naeba Independence Boardwalk. We’re making this trail so that everyone, even people in wheelchairs, can enjoy the woods safely, independently and freely.” Buy a board for ¥1000 and write a message on it.
