Fun During Thanksgiving

Author by : Robert Vrabel

The season is rapidly approaching and that means the greatest feast of the year is just round’ the corner, Thanksgiving! For some of you, that means kicking the diet to the curb and to others it means a great day of football, drinking, and just having a great time. For others, it may just be another boring day with the family. In a nutshell it’s a time to get together with friends and family as a way to have a great time and celebrate out American heritage. Thanksgiving Day doesn’t have to be another boring family holiday this year, as there are many ways to liven up the festivities! Try out these cool ideas for Thanksgiving:

Keep the family entertained

Keep the family active during thanksgiving by trying out these exciting games below. If they work well, don’t forget Christmas is right around the corner!!!

Fox and the rabbit

Get all the kids together in a circle (preferably in a basement or open area), and keep each one about 2-3 feet away from the next. Get two brave children to participate in the first round of the hunt. Have one child chose to be the fox and one choose to be the hound and tell them that the object of the game is for the fox to catch the rabbit. Both children must close their eyes while the children forming the circle act as trees and bushes to keep the two playing inside the circle (or forest). Once the fox catches the rabbit, the game ends and a new pair goes in the circle. It is guaranteed to let the kids have a great time and kid the adults enjoying themselves too.

Family jeopardy

Make up 5 categories of questions that can be asked, with 5 questions per category. Creative names for these categories can be uncles (quest: What is Uncle Mikes favorite fishing spot?), vacations (question: Where did Aunt Amy and Uncle Dave get stranded in their last vacation? etc. Get the kids involved by having a special category based on them!!! It’ll keep everyone roaring the whole day and the winner gets one of the turkey legs!!

Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be another boring holiday with Uncle Ed and Aunt Jane. Make it fun with the ideas above, and you’ll be sure to have a great time!
