Adventure in Salt Lake City, Part I

Author by : Kevin Willeitner

Salt Lake City is like no other city in that one can enjoy the metropolitan life while still being able to get away from it all with no more than a thirty minute drive. Living in the city allows one to enjoy all of the sites and sounds such as the Utah Jazz, the state’s pride and joy, or see a Broadway musical in the Capitol Theater. Liberty Park lets one experience kayaking and canoeing after a family barbecue, while the Gateway mall allows indulgences to be satisfied as the mall offers more than 90 stores and 15 restaurants.

Escaping, however, is just as easy. One can simply take I-80 through Parley’s canyon and make his or her way to Park City, home of the 2002 Olympic games. Year round, one can enjoy the beautiful sites, sounds, and shopping that Park City has to offer. In the summer, Park City offers fun attractions such as hiking, mountain biking, the alpine slide, and golf. In the winter, one can choose from one of three world-class ski resorts, such as Deer Valley, and become acquainted with the charm that won the world over during the Olympic Games.

Park City, however, is not the only haven near Salt Lake City. With over five lakes within forty miles, one can choose between boating, fishing, water skiing, or simply just swimming while being able to enjoy serene surrounding and simply forgetting that a city lies just over the hills.

Salt Lake is more than a city; it is an escape that offers individuals the choice of living the city life, or retreating to the hills and simply unwinding. With as many things to do within the city, as there are things to do outside of the city, Salt Lake is the ideal place to live.

Kevin is a native Utahan and enjoys the outdoors. Currently he works for Cowboy Properties who have a variety of apartments at The Gateway in Salt Lake City.
