Treviso is in the Veneto region of morthern Italy, around 30 kms north of Venice. It is rather overshadowed by its illustrious neighbour. It sits between two rivers, the SIle and Bottenig with canals crisscrossing the city. It is known as the Citta dAcqua, the city of water.
Unique Points
Treviso is a beautiful small city, not on the scale of Venice but I believe a quieter, less touristy, more authentic Italian city. Ryanair fly into Treviso and the airport is only 3 kilometres from the city, making it an ideal short break destination. I really like Treviso it has a very relaxed, refined yet down to earth charn. You can happily wander around the streets, the city walls and the canal side walks to soak up the atmosphere.

Why have the expatriates been allowed in Dubai to outnumber the ethnic Arab community living there? Estimates suggest up to eighty percent of Dubai’s current population might be composed of the foreigners living and working for its development. Their presence is overwhelming, from the dockyard to the sea coast, from the international airport to the lavish Jumeirah Palm Beach, from the street side cafes to the towering lord of catering, Burj Al Arab. There is no single spot available in today’s Dubai that you might finally call free of foreign incursion. The outnumber of the local populace is mammoth by any standards. Overlooking the old section of Kyiv, Podol, stands the Ukrainian Baroque church of St. Andrew, much beloved by Ukrainians. Known in Ukraine as the Andrievsky Church in Kiev it is one of the most beautiful in Eastern Europe. It is a spiritual centre and a sacred place in Ukraine, surrounded by a beautiful market in the old part of Kiev city. It was said that in ancient times there stood a pagan shrine with idols. Legend has it that this was also a place where one of Jesus’ Apostles, Andrew, blessed the hills over Dnipro and said: “There will shine a great town with many golden domed churches. God blessed these green hills” maybe, that is why Kyiv has survived the intervening millenium and many wars, and has remained majestically standing among green blooming trees as the holy ancient capital of the center of Eastern Europe.
