The Palampur town is situated in the beautiful Kangra Valley in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. The town is surrounded by beautiful Dhauladhar hills. It is having world famous temples of Goddess Kali, Vindhya Vassini Mata, Santoshi Mata, Lord Shiva, Sheetla Mata, Radha Krishan and Sidheshwar Mahadev at Sidhpur Sarkari (situated at just 6 Kms away from Palampur). The Palampur town is covered with beautiful tea gardens sprawling through out the town. Nearly 12 Kms away from here situated an animal zoo at Gopalpur.

The zoo is itself a very cool and calm place to visit. Nearly 7-8 Kms away from here, there is beautiful art gallery world famous artist Shobha Singh and a Pottery Items manufacturing workshop. Just a few kilometers away from here is World Famous Para Gliding Spot at a place know as Bir. Bir is also having a Tibetan Monestry. From here at distance of 20-25 Kms situated World Famous temple of Goddess Chamunda Devi and at a distance of 40-45 Kms situated Dharamshala which is a tourist heaven. In Palampur there are lot of very high altitude trekking routes which are trekkers paradise, although the mountain terrains are not easy to conquer. Very few trekkers have guts to trek on these Dhauladhar mountains situated at Palampur. Palampur is also having a beautiful nature park known as Sourabh Kalia Van Vihar. It is situated at the basin of river Neugal, whose water flow gives the visitors a soothing and calm feeling. The town is also a good market situated at its heart. It is a small yet very beautiful town.
