Perfect Stocking Stuffers For The Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
That is unless you count me; I was running around frantic trying to figure out what to put in the Christmas stockings. Christmas stocking stuffer can often be an afterthought. The shopping is done (almost), the money is spent (very likely), the meal is cooked (hopefully) but to put the icing on the cake, what can you put in those stocking that will have the little ones smiling and your life mate (or soon to be) knowing they are with the PERFECT partner.
About a mile from where I’m sitting is a Walgreens store, open 24hrs, filled with everything from prescription drugs, to dollar candy. They have a discount aisle where I can let my mind roam and know I won’t get into too much trouble. It’s a great place to get ideas for stocking stuffers. And it doesn’t have to be a Walgreen store (just that I’m a night owl) any discount or dollar store will do the trick. Just peruse the aisle till something catches your eye.
Need some thoughts? Sure, why not, but remember, make them personal, or at least something that person will enjoy, need, or appreciate. They are, in particular order:
Journal, toothbrush, snow globe, key chain, small photo album, mittens, night light, cards, fancy (or novel) pen, puzzle, slinky, candy, chalk, gum, coin bank, sewing kit, yo yo, money, ball, iron-on patch, bracelet, decorative pin, birthstone, press-on tattoo, phone card, cell phone, tickets (to whatever), book, wallet, arts and crafts.
Now graduating from children to adults:
Coffee mug, lotto ticket, batteries, car accessory, swiss-army knife, mini liqueur, card holder, multi tool, incense, subscription, calculator, cuff links, alarm clock (travel kind), key chain, slippers, candles, grooming accessories, lens cleaner, gift certificate, mini screwdriver, hands free cell phone adapter.
This isn’t a complete list by any stretch, but it should, just like the walk down the dollar store aisle, get your mind humming.
Here is one that is special to me, costs nothing but your time and heart, but will last years into the future, hopefully a lifetime. This is truly the personification of… “It’s the thought that counts”. A personalized letter that tells your child or significant other exactly how you feel about them, the season and life. I can’t tell you what to say here just speak from your heart and be sure and date the letter. Years from now it will be a mini time capsule of love and remembrance.
Most of what is mentioned won’t cost a lot, sometimes nothing at all, but he smiles you get, and the memories you’ll create will gladden not only your heart, but all those whose life you touch.
