9 Ways to add a Personal Touch to your Holiday Packages

Author by : Kristine Lewis

If you’re like me, half of the fun of the holidays is making everything
around you look festive and beautiful. Usually though, I wait until
the last minute and then rush to wrap all of my presents. I am always in awe
of the people who deliver such beautiful presents year after
year. So, this year, I am determined to not only give friends
and family thoughtful gifts…I am also going to make them look pretty!

Here are 9 Ways I have discovered to give your holiday packages a beautiful
and unique personal touch! I hope you will join me in giving some of them
a try this year.

1. Add fresh greenery or a fresh flower to your present. One of the most
lovely presents I ever received had a beautiful, fresh Gerber Daisy
tied to it with a ribbon. The giver attached a water pick to the flower
to maintain the flower’s freshness. Add pine cones to your holiday package
and coat with artificial snow.

2. Cut off pictures from recycled holiday greeting cards and attach them to
your packaging with double stick tape. Use simple cording as a ribbon.

3. A silk flower, a charm, a miniature ornament or a cookie cutter make great
package adornments!

4. Use fabric to wrap your gifts. Wrap the gift as you usually would with paper
and tie the corners of the fabric into a “bow” on top.

5. Use your children’s artwork to make a fun and festive gift. Simply copy
their artwork with a color copier onto legal sized paper and wrap as usual!

6. Use a pretty dish towel or linen napkin as a lovely package wrap.

7. Buy ordinary brown wrapping paper and use a festive rubber stamp, stamp
all over the non-shiny side with black ink. Then using a metallic pen
(red, green, gold, silver, purple or blue), add little squiggles.
Tie with metallic ribbon.

8. Use tulle when you can. (tulle is much cheaper than regular wrapping paper).
To wrap with tulle simply place the gift or gifts in the center of a cut piece large enough
to cover all items with approx. 5″-6″ extra. Gather all the fabric to the top and tie with
a scrap piece of tulle or ribbon.

9. Create or buy personalized holiday gift tags that match your theme.
Punch the gift tag with a paper punch and attach to your package with a
lovely ribbon.
